COOKOUT: FIVE SISTERS will be comprised of five custom cast-iron pans, each cast separately, but which can be assembled to sit in correct relation to one another upon a customized fire pit.  COOKOUT: FIVE SISTERS builds on TH&B’s successful 2023 projects, Cook-Out and Panacea, in which a custom-made cast iron pan was used to feed crowds of over 600 visitors. TH&B is proposing a new work that expands upon this idea; a set of five cast iron pans cast in the image of the Great Lakes. These pans will be used to serve food and create dynamic social exchanges beginning in Hamilton and Buffalo, with the goal of eventually traveling throughout the Great Lakes region.

In 2024, TH&B received funds from the City of Hamilton’s City Enrichment Fund, and production is currenlty ongoing. We hope to begin activating these pans as early as fall 2025.
